External Review's Review of DEMO HOTEL MUSGRAVE

1 How would you rate your overall stay and our facilities and amenities?

TRIPADVISOR - globetrotter20011994 - 9 Mar 2019 - - - Amazing getaway - - - Swimming and activities. We had the pleasure of enjoying all the 5 pools at the hotel which were amazing and very tropical- themed. We had a dip in the sea as well and though the sand is a bit murky, the water was really soothing and nice ( they recommend shoes though). Evening entertainment was alright, nothing to shout about but then again it might just be us being too used to this. (https://tinyurl.com/y4mefw3n)

2 How did our team look after you during your stay with us?

Service. We are sad to say that the service was just average. Our welcome was pretty decent, Rusha is a very sweet lady. We got the right instructions. However, the staff at the restaurant did not seem eager to engage with us as compared to staff at other hotels in Mauritius, we felt that they were a bit cold. It was also hard to get their attention and they seemed more bothered with gossiping among one another than attending to clients. Even the check- out process felt weird to us, as the person in charge did not even bother to ask us about our stay or wish that we should be back soon. Overall, the staff lacks that personal touch. Shoutout however to Arnaud from the restaurant who was really friendly and Aaron who has the kind of personality the hospitality sector really needs.

3 How would you rate our rooms? (if applicable)

Room. We booked a Superior Room at this hotel and were really satisfied with the setup and position. The room overlooked the garden, 3 of the 5 pools, and the ocean at the same time. What more can one ask for? The room was clean, spacious and very rustic with the use of wood and raw cement. Our bed was comfortable and the shower was exactly what you need at the end of a long day. So relaxing. We also had a couch with bolsters. My favourite spot was the balcony ( see pictures). We were pleasantly surprised upon receiving free slippers and welcome macaroons from the hotel. It would however be nice if the hotel could use the glass bottled drinking water in the rooms instead of plastic bottles to minimise wastage.

4 How would you rate our food and beverages?

Food. The hotel has 5 restaurants you can eat from especially if you are on an All-Inclusive package, one of which is situated on a separate idyllic island ( free transfers). The food at the main restaurant( Karay) was really good and boasted a lot of variety . It also presented exciting buffets. We did not try out the two themed restaurants, namely, Tadka and Siaw due to time constraints. ( to be booked separately but no extra charge on all- inclusive)The main bar allows you to grab a bite from 12-6 which is great if you arrive late or do not feel hungry at lunchtime. The hotel also has a street food concept restaurant where tea time snacks and coffee/tea are served. Lunch at Lor Disab was really nice as well and lunch on Gran Zil was a different concept which we really appreciated. The cocktail on the all-inclusive menu could be improved however, they pretty taste the same. However, overall, we were very satisfied with our stay. It was our first time trying out a hotel from the Attitude Group and we can say for sure that we’ll be back. The All-inclusive package has nothing you can complain about. This place is truly a gem.
